📣 WELCOME BACK FROM THE PTO PRESIDENT
Dear Dolvin Families,
Welcome to a brand new school year! On behalf of the Dolvin PTO Board, welcome back to our returning families and a special welcome to those joining the Dolvin community for the first time.
This year, our theme is "Watch Us Grow." Growth happens in so many ways—through learning, friendships, confidence, kindness, and the incredible support of our school community. Together, we'll continue to help our students flourish while making Dolvin an even stronger place to learn, connect, and belong.
Before we look ahead, I'd like to take a moment to celebrate what we accomplished together last year. Because of the generosity of our families, volunteers, teachers, staff, and community partners, the Dolvin PTO was able to:
- Host memorable events like our Back-to-School celebration, Bingo Night, Fall Festival, Family Fun Night, and grade-level end-of-year parties.
- Support enriching experiences including Literacy Night, STEM Night, Career Week, Globetrotters Club, Lunch Bunch Book Club, science programs, and March Math Madness.
- Celebrate and encourage our amazing teachers and staff through appreciation events, meals, snack carts, and Staff Appreciation Week. The more we can support our staff, the better equipped they will be to support our students!
- Invest in our campus with special projects and improvements, including the new Gaga Ball Pit and a brand new marquee sign on the corner of Jones Bridge Rd and Buice Rd (this sign will be raised and brighter to be seen more clearly).
- Strengthen communication with families through improved websites, calendars, forms, and resources that helped everyone stay informed throughout the year.
- With your help the PTO was able to provide Dolvin Elementary with $140,000 worth of support!!
None of this would have been possible without families like yours. Every volunteer hour, every donation, every event attended, and every act of support helped create meaningful experiences for our students.
As we begin this new year, we're excited to continue growing together. The PTO remains committed to supporting our students, empowering our teachers, building community, and being transparent with how we serve our school. Whether you volunteer at one event, attend a family night, become a business partner, or simply stay connected, you are an important part of what makes Dolvin so special.
Thank you for partnering with us and believing in our school. We can't wait to see all we'll accomplish together this year.

Stay Connected with Dolvin PTO This Year!
We’re simplifying communication this year so families can stay informed without receiving multiple emails from different sources. Here’s where to find everything you need:
Thursday: The Dolvin Diary
Every Thursday, Mr. Stein and the school will send the Dolvin Diary. The PTO Newsletter will now be included in the Dolvin Diary, so you will no longer receive a separate weekly PTO newsletter.
Teachers will also include a short PTO update in their classroom newsletters to highlight important information and upcoming events.
Visit Our New Blog: The Dolvin Splash
For the most current PTO news, visit our new blog, The Dolvin Splash! The blog will be updated almost daily with announcements, reminders, volunteer opportunities, event details, and more.
Current and upcoming events will always be pinned to the top, making it easy to find what you need.
We will not be sending daily PTO emails. Important email communication will be sent through the school, so please be sure to check emails from Dolvin Elementary regularly.
Join Your Classroom Community on GroupMe
This year, we will use the GroupMe app to create classroom communities and serve as our primary method of schoolwide and classroom communication.
Each classroom will have its own private community operated by the room parents. These groups will help families:

Receive classroom and PTO reminders

Learn about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities

Ask questions and connect with other families

Share playdate and party invites

Allow parents to DM each other

Build a stronger classroom community
Your contact information will remain private within the communities.
More information and classroom links will be shared soon, but families can prepare now by downloading the GroupMe app and creating an account.
